Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday!!  Yay candy!

So today was a fun day.  Mom surprised me and the kids and got us 4 ducklings.  They are thee sweetest ever babies!!  Look at this picture! How can you not just love them?

The boys, who have never seen live baby anything’s were in awe.  Ethan kinda backed away across the room, as he fears just about every and anything that moves.  Aiden was just expressionless staring at them, trying desperately to figure out what they were.   They have since warmed up to them and today Ethan said he may even try to hold one some day.
Since I grew up with ducks, chickens, goats, roosters etc… I’m extremely comfortable with the duckies and am holding mine all the time. I named him Jib Jab, because that’s all he does is tweet and tweet.  He’s so damn cute! It really was a big big surprise

Very Eastery! Very fun! The kids loved their Easter baskets.  Aiden especially loved all the pirate stuff he got.  Check out the pics!

The Easter Bunny hid eggs too! So the kids got to look for them after they went through their Easter Baskets!! :)

I agreed to let Ethan go to his dad's after he opened his Easter basket despite it being "my" year to have him.  Ethan wanted to go so I figured why not?  So around 10am Eric came by and picked him up. Later on, my brother and his friend Kevin came over.  Kevin is really tall and really outgoing.  He even played with the kids.  My sister and her boyfriend John also came by too, but sadly  John gets very car sick and it’s a good hour and a half drive to get here from where they live. Needless to say he spend a good part of the day in the bathroom sick as could be. awww I felt so bad. :(

My Mom made a nice spiral sliced brown sugar glazed ham, a pot roast with amazing gravy, some broccoli, green beans and mashed potatoes and a small pan of roasted potatoes.  Dinner was amazing and everyone loved it.  I made a really cute bunny shaped carrot cake for dessert.  Take a look!

We got to play outside too.  We played frizbee, and football. We also all took turns using Ethan’s sling shot. Using a rubber bouncy ball, we tried to his the frizbee as a target.  None of us could do it and so the fun fizzled out quickly. I took the duckies outside, it was warm enough out and I was wanting to see them on the grass.  They were so cute, very shy and nervous about it but soon began nibbling at the grass and trying run around.  It was fun, but we didn't want them to get cold as they are just babies, so we brought them back in.

The house really looked nice.  I bought Mom some flowers, mini daffodils, and pink tulips.  She really loved them and it helped decorate the house nicely.  I got some of my Easter stuff and shared with her too.  Mostly it was stuff of Mima’s that I was able to save.  Mom of course loved displaying it.  So over all the day was a success.

Easter Egg Coloring!!

Tonight we colored Easter eggs!!  It's funny because every year I've colored eggs with the boys and this year was no exception.  However, I was so beat from the day that we didn't get to color eggs until nearly 9pm.   But, over all they came out pretty.  I tried a new egg coloring kit, but it was more of a mess then anything.

Three dozen eggs later (yes seriously), and you have these colorful beauties!
( for all those keeping track the 3rd dozen, which was mine wasn't done yet
or I'd have taken a pic of them too!)

So the kids went to be excited.  The Easter Bunny had a cup of tea, and a few bites of some carrots that they left for him, and followed suit. :)

Sleep Clinic!!!

So tonight's the big night.  Finally!! I get fitted for my CPap mask for my Sleep Apnea!!  I drove myself here, a little unnerving just because I'm terrible with directions but, once I saw a landmark or two I was all set and my nervousness was replaced with confidence and excitement for the night.

Upon getting to the sleep clinic it was beyond silent there, I was brought to my room.  The room was very clean, warm and inviting.  The nurse who greeted me was a sweetheart. It felt like she was my long lost grandmother and I was visiting her.  Although she had told me someone else would hook me all up, she actually ended up doing it to help the other nurse who was hooking up the other person taking the same tests. I was very happy and comfortable with this arrangement.

I get to stay up till about 11pm, which is my typical bedtime.  I brought my laptop and skyped with my mom and my kids. They were happy to see me on the screen Mom said.  I'll be adding to this in the morning, once I'm home.  So for now, Night night all!

Here's what I look like right now!
And this is what I am all plugged into.

Good Morning

Good Morning!!
I'm home. After I was all hooked up and in bed, the nurse came by with my mask.  If felt fine on but getting used to the air was a bit of a trick.  It didn't take too long though and soon I was in la la land sound asleep.  I woke up once because the hose that was connected to the mask was leaking air and it was blowing on my eyelashes tickling them and waking me.  Not to mention the mask was digging into the inner corner of the opposite eye.  So I was needless to say quite uncomfortable.  I tried to adjust the mask and fix the hose.  But, I was in a stupor because I wasn't fully awake and felt like I had all thumbs.  Finally after a few unsuccessful tries I had to call for help.  Since the entire time I"m sleeping I'm being watched and recorded, all I had to do is say, uhh I need some help with this when you can.  And in popped my nurse like it was 4 in the afternoon. She fixed me up and left.  Since they don't have clocks in the room I guessed it was around 3am.

Now, you'd think I'd drift back to sleep... but noooo.  I couldn't sleep for my life.  When I did fall asleep it was very short lived because she must have adjusted the air flow too high.  It made me start coughing as it was just too much air at me at once.  I luckily was able to fall asleep faster then the first time, and was happy I could sleep.  However, as they want you up and out by 6am it felt like only moments went by before I heard the nurse talking to me through the intercom to get up.  I was so out of it.  I was happy to be getting up though. Tonight is Egg coloring!! Yay!!  SO I was very excited to say the least!

Over all good start to the day.

Could be a little better :(

This can't be a good sign.   I just woke up.... no really, I'm still laying in bed yawning.  Yet I happen to have my laptop up here with me so I reached over and got it.  Anyways, last night before going to bed I started feeling not so great.  The best way to describe how I am felt is that it's like I have a crumpled up ball of lead that is wedged right between my lower rib cage.  It really was bothersome when I was sitting and felt like a pressure of sorts making it ache more. I assumed it was probably indigestion from a few brownies I had eaten and disregarded it.  Okay.

So.... I go to bed.

Now, this morning.  I woke up with an amazing headache, and for a moment I thought I was fine.  Until..... I sat up.  The crumpled ball of lead is still quite prominent.  The headache is killing me, and I'm dying to go downstairs to get some excedrine to help it.  Did I mention I keep burping.. yeah kinda gross... but I am. What is UP with that???

This morning I have a busy day.  I have school, I have to take Aiden for his physical and I'm just not there for any of it.  :(   So yeah, that's it.  Not such the best morning.

Good sex would be nice :)

Well, it's snowing out ...... again.  The snow is once again up to our front door.   Yeah I'm ready Spring.  I can hear the clinking sound of coffee being stirred in the kitchen making me want some.  That's it's, I'm getting some.

Okay coffee hits the spot, feeling much better too.  Just told the kids today was officially a snow day, so they are both happy.  Hey, why shouldn't it be for them, every other school it is.  :)

I finally got my child support from my exhusband after 2 weeks of being very broke. Now mind you he still owes me another 60 for today but usually that doesn't come in until after 1.  So we'll see.  It's not him I"m upset with shockingly as that may sound.  You see, his child support payments comes out of his check automatically. So, he's not reeeally behind, the payroll people at his work are lax.  It's just incompetence, and I hate it!!  Ya see, he can't do anything about it, I can't do anything about it and neither can the child support division, trust me, I've asked. :(  So, all I can do sadly is wait and hope.

Anyways, took a nice hotish (not really) shower this morning, feel greatish.   Having some delicious hot coffee, what else is there?  Okay okay good sex would be nice about now to complete the morning but, hey that's being greedy I guess. hahaha

Ahhh well, another day perhaps. ;)

Never a dull Moment

Long time since I posted but a lot of stuff has been goin' on here.

My Dad, (not my birth Dad, my step dad so as not to confuse people) recently stopped drinking,.....((Sighs)) again. A week after stopping drinking he started to self detox.  We've all been through this countless times and know the drill. The shakes, dizziness, sick stomach etc...  So, when he started complaining about being dizzy, we paid little attention to the complaints as it's sooo typical.  And when he complained about his stomach, again very normal.   However,  little did we know, this wasn't him detoxing.

This past Saturday we had heard enough complaining so we decided to take him to the ER to get him checked out.  As we're getting ready to leave for the hospital, he began looking more pale then usual.  He wanted to wash up before going to the hospital and walked into the bathroom.  But yelled for some help immediately fearing he was going to fall over. So, Mom standing behind him guiding him and me acting as his walker,  took him back to the sofa where he collapsed quite creepily on the sofa.  He was unresponsive.  The ambulance was called and he was taken to the hospital while me and Mom followed in the car.

Not knowing if he survived the hospital trip made the drive pretty long. Neither me or Mom thought he was going to make it this time.  When we arrived, we were told that he was internally bleeding and had lost 75% of his blood.  Had it been another hour, or if this had happened in the middle of the night, he'd have died for sure and they were trying to get blood into him as fast as they could.  For 4 days he stayed in the ICU, and finally yesterday he was brought down to a regular room.  He's had  many tests done, however so far none have shown what's caused the bleeding.  We know what it wasn't.  It's not from an ulcer. He has to go for another test soon.

So, that's why I haven't been writing.  Kinda insane here. Stressful, and exhausted. It's been very peaceful without him here.  Kinda sounds mean, but when you have to deal with this as frequent as we do, it's just nice when you have a break from it.

Science Experiment

So, recently Ethan has been learning about plants, and how they grow.  Learning the names of a plant and so on.   So we do lots of science experiments and this time I decided to take some pics of it.

We are growing Lentil Sprouts from dry lentils.  This was such a fun experiment and it was exciting seeing the way  :)  Ethan especially enjoyed waking up each morning to see what the the sprouts looked like.

Day 1. Getting the lentils and letting them soak overnight in a bowl of water.

Day 2. Draining the lentils and scooping them into a glass container.

 We covered it with cheesecloth.

Day 3. Over night they sprouted!
Each day got more and more until the sprouts were coming up from the top. Each day we had to rinse the sprouts and drain them to prevent mold.  And finally!!
Day 5 They were ready to pull out to eat!

Okay this was a VERY posed pic below.  Ethan was leary of even posing for this pic as he feared he might taste them from the smell of them. (which so you know was non-existant) But I tried them in a nice wrap and they were VERY good!! And VERY good for you!!

Glum

So far the day has been,... okay.

It's sunny outside, or at least the sun is shining through the kitchen blinds this morning.  I guess that's a good thing, I mean, it's not snow right?  I need to go food shopping today, and have little desire to do so.  Tomorrow I get my foodstamps and I may just wait til then.

Right now, I'm sitting at the kitchen table, listening to Aiden crunch his cereal down.  The kitchen needs to be cleaned...... :::Sighs:: again.  Seems as though it never stays cleaner then a day.

I'm hungry this morning, kinda rare as I typically don't get hungry until 11ish.  However, to cook in a messy kitchen is about as fun as bathing in a dirty tub.

I'll see I guess.

Yawning

As I sit here yawning up a storm, I'm trying to figure out exactly what I did that's making me so exhausted. I mean, it's not like I sprinted this morning, or hauled logs in this afternoon.  I just don't get it. I mean I even laid down on my son's bed for just a moment and conked right out. Since being up, all I've done is yawn.  I have a "tired headache", again not sure why.  I dunno.

SO, I finally got my laptop.  I did as I hoped this morning and went out nice and early and all on my own.  Sometimes I like that shopping alone.  I mean, I love shopping with other people, but I guess I just needed some down time today.  Anyways, I picked up my laptop, and a new mouse.  I splurged and got a colorful mouse pad too! I probably didn't need it honestly but, ehh I liked it.  So what do I think so far you ask?  Love it!!   BIG screen and so far no glitches! YAY!

After coming back home, me and mom went out to go to Wallyville.  The boys were in dire need of new undershirts and underwear.  And Aiden desperately needed some new pants.  I picked up a couple rubbermaids and found a couple pairs of pants which I have yet to try on.  I'm hoping these pants will be my new gym pants, so we'll see! That's really all I got but the total at the register floored me.  I'm considering returning my pants and possibly the rubbermaids as I just can't cope with spending so much.  Especially after my big purchase earlier with my laptop.  Ugh.... so very needed but still a big chunk of money gone fast.

Kids have been pretty decent today considering.  Ethan goes to his dad's tonight.  I'm happy about that.  He really loves going and talks about it all week at times.  I'm glad he has a such a strong relationship bond with his dad. :)

I had another nightmare last night.  I dreamed that I lost one of my front teeth.  I also dreamed of my ex-boyfriend..... (sighs) again.  I don't get it?  I mean really what gives?  I'm not thinking of him, the kids never mention him anymore (thank god), so why the stupid dreams?  Just annoying!

Well, that's all for now. :)
