So, recently Ethan has been learning about plants, and how they grow. Learning the names of a plant and so on. So we do lots of science experiments and this time I decided to take some pics of it.
We are growing Lentil Sprouts from dry lentils. This was such a fun experiment and it was exciting seeing the way :) Ethan especially enjoyed waking up each morning to see what the the sprouts looked like.
Day 1. Getting the lentils and letting them soak overnight in a bowl of water.
Day 2. Draining the lentils and scooping them into a glass container.
We covered it with cheesecloth.
Day 3. Over night they sprouted!
Each day got more and more until the sprouts were coming up from the top. Each day we had to rinse the sprouts and drain them to prevent mold. And finally!!
Day 5 They were ready to pull out to eat!
Okay this was a VERY posed pic below. Ethan was leary of even posing for this pic as he feared he might taste them from the smell of them. (which so you know was non-existant) But I tried them in a nice wrap and they were VERY good!! And VERY good for you!!
