Sleep Clinic!!!

So tonight's the big night.  Finally!! I get fitted for my CPap mask for my Sleep Apnea!!  I drove myself here, a little unnerving just because I'm terrible with directions but, once I saw a landmark or two I was all set and my nervousness was replaced with confidence and excitement for the night.

Upon getting to the sleep clinic it was beyond silent there, I was brought to my room.  The room was very clean, warm and inviting.  The nurse who greeted me was a sweetheart. It felt like she was my long lost grandmother and I was visiting her.  Although she had told me someone else would hook me all up, she actually ended up doing it to help the other nurse who was hooking up the other person taking the same tests. I was very happy and comfortable with this arrangement.

I get to stay up till about 11pm, which is my typical bedtime.  I brought my laptop and skyped with my mom and my kids. They were happy to see me on the screen Mom said.  I'll be adding to this in the morning, once I'm home.  So for now, Night night all!

Here's what I look like right now!
And this is what I am all plugged into.

Good Morning

Good Morning!!
I'm home. After I was all hooked up and in bed, the nurse came by with my mask.  If felt fine on but getting used to the air was a bit of a trick.  It didn't take too long though and soon I was in la la land sound asleep.  I woke up once because the hose that was connected to the mask was leaking air and it was blowing on my eyelashes tickling them and waking me.  Not to mention the mask was digging into the inner corner of the opposite eye.  So I was needless to say quite uncomfortable.  I tried to adjust the mask and fix the hose.  But, I was in a stupor because I wasn't fully awake and felt like I had all thumbs.  Finally after a few unsuccessful tries I had to call for help.  Since the entire time I"m sleeping I'm being watched and recorded, all I had to do is say, uhh I need some help with this when you can.  And in popped my nurse like it was 4 in the afternoon. She fixed me up and left.  Since they don't have clocks in the room I guessed it was around 3am.

Now, you'd think I'd drift back to sleep... but noooo.  I couldn't sleep for my life.  When I did fall asleep it was very short lived because she must have adjusted the air flow too high.  It made me start coughing as it was just too much air at me at once.  I luckily was able to fall asleep faster then the first time, and was happy I could sleep.  However, as they want you up and out by 6am it felt like only moments went by before I heard the nurse talking to me through the intercom to get up.  I was so out of it.  I was happy to be getting up though. Tonight is Egg coloring!! Yay!!  SO I was very excited to say the least!

Over all good start to the day.
