"I might be a MOFO, but I'm NOT a dork!!"

Ethan finished school early for the summer.  I'm very happy about it too, as out of both the boys, Ethan is the most difficult to teach. His attitude is atrocious and I can only hope that next year is not a repeat.

Earlier this morning Ethan tattled on his brother that he was up early in the morning playing his handheld video game.  Since I have a rule no video games till after school, and Aiden knows this, he was in lots of trouble.

The last time he played his handheld before school, his punishment was to write 50 times, "I will not play my game". On top of that, he had his game taken away for a week and was warned the next time he played on a school morning, he'd lose his handheld for the entire summer!

Sadly, this obviously meant nothing to him and I was forced to enforce the punishment of taking his handheld away for the whole summer.   But Mom didn't think it was a harsh enough punishment to get the point across, and insisted that I take ALL video games from him for the whole summer.  She didn't even want him watching Ethan play video games. I finally had to say to her, look, I don't mean to be soft, but like what the hell is he going to do all summer?   She understood and said that he could watch Ethan.  ::Sighs::

Aiden however is not the only fresh one in the house. And after the sentencing of Aiden for the bad behavior, I decided to take a peek on mom's laptop at the history of what Ethan's been up to lately online.  Mom gave Ethan the privilege of playing on it for the past month.  There was an incident however in which Ethan started searching Youtube for inappropriate videos having to do with sex!!  He's 11 years old going on 12 in August.

Naturally,  I confronted Ethan about this and he promised me that he was only curious and would never search for things like this again.  Since this was the first time, and I had no reason to not trust him at his word, I agreed.  I also talked to my Ex-husband about this as I felt it was important that he be on the same page as to what was going on.

As I was saying, today I checked his history on mom's laptop.  Not only did Ethan lose his privilege to play on the laptop indefinitely, but he had to be talked to about what he was looking up.  Oh my god.... it was awful the things he was looking up!!  Everything and anything you can imagine.   From "Prostitutes to Whores", to  some videos entitled: " how to tell my parents I'm gay!"   I was beside myself!!   I started wondering if he felt gay or something (Not that I'd care at all if that was the case).  I was just so much in shock in general over it.

Anyways,  once again, tonight I had to confront him.  I had to ask questions I thought I'd not have to ask for a few more years at least!   But this was the first time the answer "No" was a relief for me.  Things I asked," Do you know what a Prostitute is?"  Ethan: "No", "Do you know what a Whore is?" Ethan:  "No."   Do you know what "gay" means?  Ethan says, "umm does it mean cursed?" (((smiles and laughs at the innocence) Awww he was clueless my baby and I was SOOO happy he was. However, I did explain the meanings to all the things he looked up.  (In kid terms of course).  Nothing graphic and luckily I didn't have to have the "sex talk" ...... yet.   ::sighs:: ughhh I think 5 more gray hairs just sprouted.

A few hours later I walk into the porch to hear Aiden yelling at Ethan.  "I'm NOT a dork!!"  To which Ethan yelled back.  "you are SO a dork you MOFO!"  Aiden replied "FINE,... but I'm NOT a dork! "   ::sighs again::  UAHhhh I said, do you know what a "MOFO" is Ethan?  "No".... he said nervously.... so I explained to him what it was. (to Mom too as she was clueless hahaha very funny to me by the way).   When Ethan learned what bad words it stood for,..... his little eyebrows raised up and he apologized as did Aiden quite immediately.  "No more calling each other MOFO understood?"   Dear god.

So that was my day and night.

hahah  Insane... truly I'm insane. Honestly I just don't know sometimes.  Mom continues to tell me "told you so, I told you not to have kids but do YOU listen noooooooo"   Yeah thanks a heap mom rub it in a little deeper why don't you!  Geesh!

Both kids are finally sleeping... seems like the longest day ever.  I need a vacation... Oh wait that's right too Aiden still has school tomorrow, oh fun.  :(  He's almost done thank god.. then I can relax a little.

Speechless.. yeah I was too.

PS.  That's not all I did.  I also went out brought home 4 boxes plus a LARGE suitcase filled with the kids baby clothes from my storage unit. Took 3 of the 4 boxes downstair to sort, sorted them, and then tossed out lots of things I don't want/need to goodwill.  Then helped with trash.  Earlier I finally moved the duck coupe over and  gave them straw for the first time. They seem very happy now and I convince everyone to make this move be the last. :)  YAY!

Nothing like running with children

Had a lot of fun today with my kids.  Got to play some Frisbee outside and we had a lot of laughs.  Afterwards we had fun playing with the ducks.  They are so funny.  My favorite is when we're all running around playing "Power Rangers".   The best part was when they were chasing me and I had to get away from them.  I probably could have ran faster had I been in better shape and if I could stop laughing so hard.

It was a very long school day and I was happy to be done with it.  However, it was the most perfect weather out there.   Cool and breezy and not a bug in sight. :)  I know it's colder then spring ought to be, but I am thoroughly enjoying it as I know the warmer weather is right around the corner. :(

Time for bed for me... I'm wiped from the day.

Happy Mother's Day!!

This has been the best Mother's Day to date!!   I woke up to two loving kids giving me hugs and kisses and wishing me a Happy Mother's Day.  Then, they both went downstairs and played quietly together giving me a few minutes to wake up.  It's a rarity that I treasured immensely.

After I came downstairs, I was greeted by my mom and we wished each other Happy Mother's Day.  Then she had the kids give me my Mother's Day goodies and cards. My mom took the boys out yesterday so that they could buy me something nice.  I was very excited to see what they had picked out.

So I had to share what they got me.  First I opened Ethan's card.  It was as sweet as him and I loved that he signed his name in cursive.  Ethan got me purple nail polish, and a Hello Kitty key chain!!  I loved it as I have no key chain.

Next was Aiden's card.  On his card, the cartoon character resembled Aiden and it made me smile as it was SO him.  Aiden also got me nail polish, although he got me yellow nail polish!   I'm not sure who was more excited by that him or me.  He also gave me a Hello Kitty photo holder of which I will be putting pics of the kids in them!

My Mom and me had treated each other last week to getting our hair done for Mother's Day.  However, we both got the other something in addition to that.  Mom got me a beautiful card that had a velvet exterior and interior!  She also got me a doodle book which I love and also some oil pastels that I can't wait to use!  She also got me a sign that read "Garden sweet Garden" I can't wait to hang it up!

After letting my duckies out and feeding/watering them, I sat down to a nice hot cup of joe!  Can't tell you how much I am enjoying this and loving my day.  Not even the dismal weather can make me unhappy.

PS.
I just found out that Wednesday my little sister will be visiting us as a post Mother's day .....day.   I can't wait! I haven't seen her since Easter.  We'll be sure to have a fun time.  And I think my brother will also be joining us. YAY!!

Bekah the builder!

So this week I put together my duckies coupe.  It's nothing fancy and I still gotta paint it to make it look pretty for them, but it came out pretty good I think.

Of course I still have to put the door on it, and a lock to secure them in but, it's mostly done.  For now, they stay outside all day and love to swim in their pool!

At night, they sleep in a large rubbermaid, it's a little crowded but it's only for the night.  Soon they'll sleep outdoors in the coup.  :)

In other animal related news.....
This morning after taking the duckies out, there was a robin that contineously and purposely kept flying into and crashing into our bathroom window. :(   Here's the video. I've never seen anything like this,.... have you?  I read online that it's a territorial type thing and it's fairly common.

Anyways, that's about it for now. :)

Progeria

So recently I have been consumed learning all about Progeria.  For those of you who don't know about it (as I didn't), you can visit this website. Learn about Progeria.  Not sure how many of you know me well enough to know that being "involved" in support groups and fundraisers and such is SO not my thing.  Don't get me wrong, my heart goes out to those who are in need or who have been born disabled in some way.  However, in the past, it just wasn't for me to be involved in things as such.

With all that said, I feel like I've done a complete turn around.  About a week or so ago, I stumbled upon a Youtube video of Adalia Rose. (Click her name and you'll see the video).  I fell in love with her face and voice and wondered what caused her to appear this way.  Which led me to see other kids with the same look in other videos. So, I'm completely taken with these sweetest children that are sadly afflicted with it.  Sadly, there is no cure.

Please take a look at a few of these amazing kids that I fell in love with.  Click on their names to learn more about them.

                                         Adalia Rose

                                       Hayley Okines,

                                     and Zoey Delarosa

So I found out that in Peabody MA. there is a Progeria Chapter.  I applied to be a volunteer there.  :)  I'm very excited and hope to help out as much as possible!  I've also made the decision to cut and donate 14 inches of my hair to "Locks of Love".  I'm very excited about this and my hair dresser appointment is this Friday the 3rd of May!! YAY!!

So, thought I'd share and hoping to spread the word about this.  It certainly made me quite grateful to have healthy kids. :)
